DMCA & Copyright Policy

Our Commitment

BeatTaste respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses the platform to do the same. Producers who submit beats represent that they own or control all rights in the material they upload. We do not knowingly host infringing content, and we will remove or disable access to any material that is the subject of a valid takedown notice.

This policy applies to all content on the platform — including beats, cover art, titles, tags, and any other material displayed in our catalog.

How Content Reaches BeatTaste

All music on BeatTaste is provided by the producers themselves:

• Producer submission. Producers apply for a creator account and, once approved, upload, title, tag, and manage their own beats directly through their dashboard. Producers are the source of the content they publish.
• Human moderation. Every submission is reviewed by our team before it appears publicly. We check for quality, accurate information, and any obvious rights concerns, and we decline anything that appears to infringe third-party rights.
• Ownership warranty. By uploading, each producer represents and warrants that they own or control all rights to the material and are authorized to display and distribute it through BeatTaste.
• Full producer control. Producers can claim their profile, edit their catalog, and remove any or all of their beats at any time. When a producer removes content, it is taken down and not re-added.
• Licensing stays with the producer. BeatTaste does not sell licenses. Anyone who wants to license a beat is directed to the producer's own store, where the transaction happens under that producer's terms.

This producer-driven, reviewed model is how we keep the catalog accurate and rights-respecting.

Designated DMCA Agent

All copyright notices and counter-notifications must be sent to our designated agent:

Email is the fastest and preferred method. Notices sent to any other address may not be actioned. We aim to acknowledge valid notices within 2 business days.

Filing a Takedown Notice

To be effective under the DMCA, your written notice to our agent must include all of the following:

• Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is sufficient for an electronic signature);
• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g., a link to the original, or a clear description);
• Identification of the material on BeatTaste you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — a direct link (URL) to the beat page is strongly preferred;
• Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address;
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action. If you are unsure whether you own the rights, consult an attorney before sending a notice — knowingly false claims carry legal consequences (see Section 08).

What Happens Next

Upon receiving a valid notice, we will:

• Remove or disable access to the identified material, typically within a few business days;
• Notify the producer who uploaded it and forward a copy of your notice (with your personal contact details reasonably redacted where possible);
• Inform the producer of their right to submit a counter-notification.

We may also, at our discretion, remove related material and take action on the producer's account under our Repeat Infringer policy.

Counter-Notification

If you are a producer whose content was removed and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to our agent that includes:

• Your physical or electronic signature;
• Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal;
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
• Your full name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which BeatTaste may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the allegedly infringing activity.

Repeat Infringers

It is our policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, the accounts of producers who are determined to be repeat infringers. We may also remove content, suspend uploading privileges, or revoke platform access at any time for conduct we believe, in good faith, infringes the rights of others.

False or Bad-Faith Claims

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing — or that it was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please do not submit a notice or counter-notice unless you are confident in your rights and the accuracy of your statements.
